memories of
my father
sometimes
unexpected
catching me
up short
remembering
him skiing
always
behind us
making sure
we made it
down the
slope
maybe not
effusive
gushing
about love
but a
living presence
I remember
yet
memories
enduring
my father’s
face, his smell
watching
him shave
how he
walked in life.
