You just said that to Jesus

Such coarseness of dialogue

in this modern age, thoughtless,

needing a filter, a pause button,

to ponder Christ’s teaching

this lesson for the sheep

How would the world be different,

would there be greater peace?

maybe we all need a five-second delay

before any of us speak

You just said that to Jesus

the living Son of God;

He is standing before you

as a friend, a neighbor

someone we feel entitled to judge

How do you know, that you didn’t,

from reading this scripture;

maybe you should remember

that He is here with us.
