a battle within my body – v2

a challenge every day
a present time of struggle,
a battle within my body
my spirit and my flesh
the paradox of free will…
 
a war as in the Garden
of good versus evil,
wanting to walk with You
but my brokenness fails me,
I walk, I run away…
 
a battle within my body
an ancient war raging
the essential nature of man,
our spirit and our flesh,
seeking the upper hand…
