May their deaths not be in vain

May the Heroes leave a legacy,
may a just peace rise,
their flag on every flagpole,
their joy on high...
 
May their deaths not be in vain...
their best sons and daughters,
these defenders of their homeland,
their honored dead...
 
May we sing of the Heroes,
may their legacy be peace,
calm within their nation,
at rest within their graves...
