a tableau alive
overwhelming senses
triggering my brain
awash in the morning
hearing purple
synapses firing
the auditory cortex
reverberating in praise
joy in the sunrise
the warming of morning
awash with colors
rich to my taste
not seeing really
far too limiting
tasting the dawn
hearing the purple

“The Lilac Sky”
“Tasting the morning”
series of poems based on
segment on how babies,
when they are wearing a
brain cap,
to do EEG measurements,
don’t always
have the visual cortex
light up
when they see something
but sometimes
have the auditory cortex
light up,
as if they are hearing the
image, the colors.
