each on cue, apace,
according to the libretto,
shouting on the playground
baritones, sopranos
A chorus of the children
in vibrant shades and
colors
Awash in colors, in
minuet, staccato
rising, crescendo,
subsiding
until repeating in morning

“Awash in colors”
series of poems based on
segment on how babies,
when they are wearing a
brain cap,
to do EEG measurements,
don’t always
have the visual cortex
light up
when they see something
but sometimes
have the auditory cortex
light up,
as if they are hearing the
image, the colors.
