Tasting the morning

the lavender, the lilac

the sky bursting before me

tasting the morning

the warming, the movement

the wind on my palate

the colors tasty

waking in the dawning

the sky alive before me

tasting the morning

series of poems based on

segment on how babies,

when they are wearing a brain cap,

to do EEG measurements, don’t always

have the visual cortex light up

when they see something but sometimes

have the auditory cortex light up,

as if they are hearing the image, the colors.

at about 6:15 minutes to about 8:45  minutes
