I wanted to
lash out
to defend
my family
for the ignorant
words
the slings
and arrows
falling on
them
How we were
judged by appearance
on anger,
opinion only
their facts
and figures
their bile
spewed
falling on
us
I need to
be forgiving
to choose
to walk away
to be more
fully Christ-like
in my
words, my actions
to not lash
out
not joining
in the argument
mine not
the voice
to right
this wrong
I am
choosing to walk away
I leave it
to God.
