A deepening understanding, breathing in the word
lesson by lesson, example by example, in parable
and in service. Showing all of the law, all of the prophets,
the writings, through himself. Giving them reason,
to believe in miracles, in His holiness
Giving them words, teachings, interpretations
to guide their ministry, to embolden their work
to lift them up, and change their lives
over the long haul of seminary, the three years
when He walked with them, healed the sick,
toppled the scales, and unraveled the mysteries
Showing God’s love in the law, and the truth
of the prophets, for those who would see
and those who would hear
being His sheep, and members of His flock
