Pearls in the Heart
water caught in the heart
of the lupin, a pearl, a cluster of drops
much like a pearl in the ocean,
grown over time,
gathered in the crook,
the heart of the petals
waiting for wonder
in a human’s eye
soon to spill out, down to the earth
to add water to the lupin
so it may grow
but for now a treasure,
a pearl of great value
presented by the fingers, the petals,
offered up
for us to see
