Shy and Shane sat watching the rain
a duck waddled by our window pane
There was no sun, not anywhere
The fan and the rain,
called us in time with each other
Thick heavy drops fell on the oak leaves
bringing them spiraling down
the wet splash of the cars in the alley
a staccato of swirling leaves,
in the damp, saturated air
drawing and coloring to pass the time
to while away the hours
a wet blanket covered the day
on a seriously wet Saturday
