A kernel of prayer, spoken,
into the ether, the universe,
spoken aloud to our Maker
the Creator of heaven and earth.
a kernel of peace, deeply planted
our faith in God deep within
our rock in the maelstrom
our hope within the storm.
A kernel of prayer, spoken,
from our lips, our heart
sometimes prayer unspoken
in groans to soft for words.
a kernel of peace, deeply planted
a wellspring of abundance
our longing, our striving
our hope within the storm.
