scrambling the lizards

scrambling the lizards,
across the lawn, the sidewalk,
like fighters on the tarmac, on alert,
sprinting at a moment’s notice
 
scrambling the lizards,
from their hiding, their hangars,
hidden in the grass, the weeds,
running for the bushes…
