Designs of their culture – v4

Beauty in their intricacy,
designs of their culture,
symbols evoking memory,
their identity as a people,
that sing aloud, a chorus,
who they are, as a people,
this is eternally Ukraine…
 
Like the wheat ripening in fields,
an azure-blue sky above them,
the tryzub, the raven, the poplar,
sunflowers, hills, forests, the Dnipro,
love of their country, the Kobzars,
their stories, their memories,
written in intricate lines…
 
They wear their embroidered Vyshyvanka,
a connection to each region, each family,
of meaning, memory stitched, a fabric,
ancient traditions, threads woven,
they share Pysanky eggs for Easter,
on either side of the Dnipro,
on the mainland, in Crimea,
together, they stand as one, Ukraine…
