What Worth

What value, what worth
possession of the rich man
after he turned and walked away
Offered discipleship,
to become a sheep of the flock
the good shepherd before him
offering his hand

Turning, sorrowfully, sadly
grieving because he could not do
what the master asked
His things, his station,
his power and his comfort
too much to part with
to follow the Christ

What worth, what value
the things in his possession
when he came before God
accounting for his life
His choices, his service
what he could have offered
the judgment of God
because he walked away
