Their elderly voices, these matriarchs
rich with memory, with love
warm, living words
remembering the saints in their lives
dear loved ones, some long passed
those who showed them Christ
who loved God, and their neighbors
bringing them the truth of their faith
examples of those worthy
living the name Christian
shared in the words they offered
in worship, in your sanctuary
given to us, a community gathered
in your house, oh Lord,
to hear your word for us.
