Sentient Clay

The two parts, the two halves
the duality in the nature of man
sentient clay, the stuff of the earth
made in the image of God
the divine and the base
fighting within us
living out the days of our lives
giving over to the world or the savior
following a path of our own
or of God’s choosing
A struggle for our minds
our hearts torn within us
which way will follow
defining our lives
