At the bottom of the sermon,
the scripture laid bare
the fact of our treasure
our things of the world
What must we do
to answer the master
the rich man a part of us
our every day
The world all around us
those with far less than we
our comfort, our wealth
evident, in our land, this place
His command to the rich man before us
to go and sell and give it all away
Only then able, only then ready
to truly follow and walk with the Lord
Let go of our treasure
the things that bind us
all that gets in the way
between us and the king
Pick up our cross,
and follow the master
get rid of the world’s control
on our hearts this day
