Matthew 24:35 NLT
Psalm 33:6 NLT
Faithful Trust

Prayer for illumination.

1 Peter 1:23-25 New International Version (NIV)
23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For,
“All people are like grass,
    and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25     but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
And this is the word that was preached to you.

When someone gives you their word, we often take it seriously (unless proven otherwise in the past). If they say they will do…Fill in the blank…we believe they will come through. In the business world, a firm handshake seals the deal or an understanding…sort of like an oath or a promise.

But we also live in a world where there are many promises that are not fulfilled. We make promises and for some reason or another we are unable to complete them at times. Even worse, there are some who never plan on keeping the promise that was given. It can make us very cynical and not believe anything we hear from people.

There are also times when we put the attribute of unfaithfulness and promise breaking on our God. We can’t help it at times. We just feel like there is nothing or no one who will come through when they make a promise… So where do we go to find or renew that faithful trust we once had in the One who always comes through…even if we don’ believe that they will… Beloved, we have a faithful, Faithful God who is just that even when we are not…

Let’s face it…we are imperfect, and we are here today and gone tomorrow. But from the 1 Peter scripture we hear about One who endures and so does His word. God can’t lie. It is not in His character. In His love letter, the bible, we read about many instances of God giving His word. These are personal promises God has given over the years not only to the people at that time but also even today. The Word of the Lord Endures Forever… words like I will never leave you or forsake you, I will be with you until the end of time…

Isaiah 55:11 tells us:
11 It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
If God says something, He will follow through. When we are faithful He is faithful to bring His promise into fruition in our lives…heck…even when we are not faithful He is…who am I trying to kid here…

This is amazing people…God formed the galaxies, life, spun molecules into stunning crystals, caused planets to hang from nothing in space with just a word from His mouth…
The Lord merely spoke,
    and the heavens were created.
He breathed the word,
and all the stars were born.
(Psalm 33:6)
Beloved I am here to encourage you…to implore you this morning. If you have had a word from God in your life…hold on to it… His word has creative ability. Let His promises seep into your very being…into the depths of your soul…and cause His vision to grow. It doesn’t matter what anyone else tells you… have faithful trust in the One who is faithful.

Doesn’t matter the physical…what you see… the only concern is the fact that God remains active in your life. Everything can be swept away but the Words He has given you can’t be swept away…ever…
35 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
(Matthew 24:35)
It will fulfill its purpose and not return void. Nothing or no one can change it…God said it…I have faithful trust in Him…that settles it…

Just a word from Jesus healed a servant that was far away…
Just a word from Jesus caused Peter to walk on water (Come)…
Just a word calmed the storm (Be still)
A word from God can change everything! You can and will come alive…

If you haven’t received a word…ask for one. He has great plans for your life. Seek Him and He will reveal His word that will never fail…

Amen…
