Regaining her
composure an effort,
but not shrinking
from the camera,
The chronicler,
the voyeur,
Silent but soon to
speak,
a flaring of her
nostrils,
quick motion
clearing,
tears that would not
be silenced,
resolve in the
face of this woman,
like so many
clients I have known…
We need to honor
her spirit,
to acknowledge the
hope within her,
giving her time,
standing resolute,
even amid her pain,
standing her
ground,
staring into the
camera
regaining power
somehow...
