Returning to the sea, to the water

Returning to the sea, the water,
feeling the sunlight upon me,
the roar of the waves, crashing,
as the high tide fell away…
 
They came out to greet me,
a repeating pattern,
lines of pelicans above the houses,
ribbons across the sky...
 
Some strands as four of them,
other thirty pelicans coursing,
cutting through the moment,
greeting me once again…
 
Another pelican morning,
the dance of the pelicans above me,
refreshing me in this moment,
washing me in infinite grace…
