her body wracked in pain
numb now in this moment,
literally falling in on herself
while the world watches, a vigil,

horror too fast to process,
before the next news cycle,
her moment of abject pain,
numbed to the horror,
emptiness before the altar,
holding onto him, silent,
sitting in shiva, his memory…
