You have deserted your mother,
your dying homeland, Ukraine,
You have fallen into the trap
of pleasures unknown…
 
You lay your head in palaces,
“In an alien land, amid strangers”,
forgetting about your deceased mother,
your barren homeland, Ukraine…
 
You have chosen your enemy,
Your accursed master, the Tsar,
squandering your history, your future
for a false peace, comfort, but at a great cost…
 
You lay your head in palaces,

You have abandoned your identity,
your days will be like grasses,
gathered for the fire, a pyre,
the burning of Ukraina…
