tilling the soil – 3 – v3 #farming #confess #repent #amends #God #Spirit #heart

Digging, planting, harvesting,
subsistence farming, starting,
hard scrabble ground, giving,
offering itself to me, slowly,
to the work of my hands,
My moments of being faithful…

Hard ground gives slowly
spade work, groundwork,
a phrase repeating in my heart
feeling like a failure, forgetting,
falling even farther behind
in the work on my spirit,
My living walk with God…

Tilling the soil, working,
in the fields, in my heart,
Still more to do to be ready
to be prepared for the call of God
for the heart work, the change,
You lovingly have in store…

Surrendering my will, slowly,
accepting progress, working,
The work You have done already,
Happy for the changes You give me,
that You have given within me…
My Spirit feels Your touch,
Potter of my life…
