I got a chance to meet poet Natasha Trethewey on the Mall in Washington, DC last weekend as part of the 2004 National Book Festival (http://www.loc.gov/bookfest/), in the Poetry Pavilion (http://www.loc.gov/bookfest/04/pavilions/poetry/index.html).
Here's their page on her:

Also check out Natasha's page at Emory:

Great imagery in her work, and a fascinating melding of cultures in her genealogy and life experience.

Ray - That's cool that you got to meet Natasha Trethewey! How was DC? How's the job hunt going?
