These words, “arctic ice”
in the search string on my computer
track the telling, epiphany above the circle
the telling news by the pole
of a planet changing,
is it inexorably yet? How many
inches of water lapping on the streets
will be needed, to tell the rest of the story
to awaken the world to the realities
we have wrought, set lose
on the face of the globe,
as surely as Pandora did
when she opened that damn box
What can we do now,
to stem the tides
that will be rising
Where will this battle be waged
and won?
