Abraham’s Children
Like the tax collector
we are all Abraham’s children
children of the promise
of the savior, of the creator
sheep in the flock,
shepherds for other
wayward sheep
even as we wander
we need the grace
the shepherding of the Lord
the staff guiding us
away from danger
and distance
from our neighbor,
from our God
to be a full member
in the household of God
to be Abraham’s children
and heirs to the promise
