A wayward Jewish boy
separated from family, from his people,
from his faith, focused on his wealth,
All was lost, an unclean life
In the end, at the bottom of the abyss
A Jewish boy feeding pigs
Coming to his senses
returning home,
to his father’s embrace
unmerited love,
a gift for repentance alone
Beyond human measure.
