Sparks of gold, of silver,
splashes of color rising
up from the new-fallen snow
greeting my lowered head
deep in thought, troubled brow
Dancing light, a rat-a-tat-tat
firing staccato, rapid fire
each footfall, wave, a barrage
like the fireworks’ finale
almost more than my eyes comprehend
flashes of light
rising from the ground
