God is the Good Parent

(a retelling of the 23rd Psalm)

God is my good parent
You meet all my needs

You sing me lullabies
you woo me to blissful sleep.

You refresh my yearning spirit;
ever true to your promise,
You show me how to walk your way.

Though I am sometimes afraid,
I feel safe, when I hold your hand.
Your arms and your voice
they give me comfort.

You make my favorite dinner,
before those who would hurt me.
You pour a blessing upon me;
My joy overflows.

Your Mercy, Your Caring, they pursue me
every moment of my life.
I shall live with our good parent
all the days of my life.
