Their actions, without
words
cousins greeting each
other
joy within each heart
affirming the divine
God’s plan unfolding
the presence of the
Christ-child
in Mary’s womb, growing,
John overjoyed, overcome
leaping within her, his
mother
in the moment of their
greeting
God’s promise complete
the prophecies fulfilled
the one who would herald
and the One who was to
come
