In the moment of his birth
in the moment of his dying
we hear them joined
the word the same
God’s light and the
darkness
The same words in worship
at the humble beginning
and in his sacrifice, ending
the same words of light
light descending from
heaven
Our joy and our sorrow
in the light’s coming
and our rejection
the same words of life
God’s light in the world
Our hope and our salvation
in the light of Jesus
perceiving the darkness
the Word of life alive
rising up to heaven
