not so fast

not so fast
earthly king
I am the ruler
of everything
not so fast
claiming too much
nothing created
by your touch
not so fast
human sovereign
I am the Creator
of heaven and earth
I gave you power
I can remove it
your kingdom gone
your mind dust

not so fast
Daniel 4:31 – 32 (The Message)
The words were no sooner out of his mouth
than a voice out of heaven spoke,
“This is the verdict on you, King Nebuchadnezzar:
Your kingdom is taken from you. You will be driven out
of human company and live with the wild animals.
You will eat grass like an ox. The sentence is for
seven seasons, enough time to learn that the High God
rules human kingdoms and puts whomever he wishes in charge.”

Daniel 4:30-31 King James Version (KJV)
“30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon,
that I have built for the house of the kingdom by
the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell
a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar,
to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.”
