On this Holy Saturday
coming to the tomb, the
cross,
the sentry before the church
standing vigil to remind us
the symbol of our sin
and of God’s great sacrifice
The scene different, darker
the silence of this morning
the crown of thorns, the
cross
Christ shrouded, entombed,
wrapped in the silence,
in the garment of our sorrow
Waiting, silently, in the
fabric
the weight of our sorrow
standing enclosed, cocooned
waiting for the miracle
the radical transformation,
joy,
the morning, the moment
of Christ’s resurrection
