reckless thought

reckless thought, fleeting emotion

a wave overtaking me, consuming

my vision, my station, my all

anger rising, wanting retribution

a reckoning, a moment of awareness

that which was lost in the maelstrom, the chaos

the cascade, the torrent racing, charging

over the cliff, the maw of the ocean

the demons extinguish beneath the waves
