Lord, I pray you would hear my cries
though I do not claim to
be righteous
as David did in the
Psalms
I pray you would answer
my prayers
for healing, for
reconciliation
for a sense of community
to rise
to defeat the darkness,
the evil,
the anger still
entrenched
the hurt too close to the
surface
choking us, stagnant
not embracing the change
coming
the future you have give
us
