we live for another
That
our stake, our place
is
tied to a life not our own

owning it outright

fee simple absolute for perpetuity
tethered
to another
to
a beating heart
Without
encumbrances, conditions,
Or
risk of open
Language
of the Law
Wielding
its power
The
connectedness we feel
Share
with our fellows
Guide,
limit, check,
Our
choices, if made alone
