once we were perfect,
innocent of sin;
we walked with God
in the cool of the
evening.
then sin entered,
the fruit, the snake;
Adam and Eve were
cast out of the Garden.
but God was cast out
of all of creation;
our sin too great a
barrier
to our continued
communion.
God, the Father,
only in heaven;
the breach healed
by Christ, our Savior.
