a land of dreams

birthed by a prayer

a hope, a yearning

for freedom, for life

for liberty for all

an end to strife

a land of dreams

of hopes, of aspirations

seeking to raise up

our lives, our neighbors

that all would know plenty

and none would know want

a land of dreams

a journey, still, forward

striving to fully achieve

our nation’s calling

to fully live out

our hopes, our creed.

changing our nation’s history

the pundits asked each other

would his words have an impact

would anything change

through the words he spoke

there was power in his words

humble words of service

words of love, compassion

of God’s Golden Rule

within a day, less really,

a momentous decision

changing our nation’s history

the Speaker stepping down

He was willing to sacrifice

for the Congress, for our nation

changing his plans this morning

for the common good.

we must dialogue

we must work in concert

because we all share

our common home

the earth is not ours

to rape, to plunder

God entrusts the world

the garden to us

as stewards, as servants

we are to care for

Do More Than Dream – v2

We dream of a world without pain

a just and loving world

without poverty, without hunger;

We dream of a place for us

within Your Kingdom.

What are we doing now

in our day to day living

to put our faith into motion

in action now in this world

to better the lives, the days,

of our brother, our sister,

their children, and

our world?

We must fulfill the call

The work is here;

We are the servants, the workers,

out in the fields.
