filaments of light

each one small
each member of the body
like filaments of light
pulled from the fires
up from the clay
the potter’s hand guiding
together stronger
a mighty cord together

the cord of the church
the vine of the body
filaments, fibers
of light, our true essence
fibers of light
interwoven, grafted
fused in the fires
forged one to another
for God’s purpose, his glory

life in the body

glowing threads

the cord is wound, braided
fused, forged, molded, conformed
by God’s loving hands
each of us a glowing thread,
each one a gift
a part of the body
married one to another
according to his purpose

threads of light
becoming a cord of power
woven together into the vine,
the body of Christ
stronger together
forged within the fires
alive with the love of God
filled with our Spirit’s power

threads forged together

lifeless alone,
cold, unfocused
like dead thread of light
embers grown cold

threads of our journeys
pulled from the furnace
the story of our lives
from these threads forged
together far stronger

a new cord is woven
filled with the waters
threads of the vine
forged together, grafted,

knitted together
rising up, growing
stronger together
a fire growing
building, stronger,
an open flame

stoked by the Spirit
the cord becomes alight
illumined from within
the Spirit afire, glowing,

the threads, becoming cords
cords a rope stronger
filled with God’s love
fed by the waters
overflowing, abundance
threads of the cord
the body, the church

threads of the cord

threads of our journeys
pulled from the furnace
the story of our lives
from the thread forged
a new cord is woven
filled with the waters
threads of the vine
forged together, grafted,
knitted together
rising up, growing
stronger together
a fire growing
stoked by the Spirit
the cord becomes alight
illumined from within
the Spirit afire, glowing,
filled with God’s love
fed by the waters
overflowing, abundance
threads of the cord
the body, the church
