She longed for a quiet place
a little solitary space
to focus her thoughts
as she ought
to set down with a book
in her little nook
to while away the hours
to drink in the power
of your word, your creed
out hope in times of need
your covenant and truth
that is beyond any regret and reproof
that little piece of space
that is there by your grace
to center and to think
but probably not for a drink
