Molded, shaped, reshaped
in the potter’s hands,
imperfections worked out,
pulled from the clay,
balance, symmetry,
made useful by his hands,
by the yielding of the clay
to the potter’s touch
transforming a lump
of inert clay
to something wonderful,
useful to the potter’s purposes
A bit of clay still
on the potter’s hands
