working, as we had for years, toiling in our boat
on the Sea of Galilee, fishermen,
that is what we were, until that day
He was the one, baptized by John
in the Jordan, or so was the story
about this man, Jesus

to follow Him,
to be fishers of men,
no longer in my boat
doing what I had always known
He called Me
And I followed Him
