A national day of prayer,
duly designated, sanctioned
to pray for our country, our blessings
for our leaders, in these days
Praying for wisdom, for justice,
for peace, for an end to torture
Bowing my head, clasping my hands
spending a few moments in prayer
for this land we call home
I wonder what this nation,
this world would be like
if instead of a day of prayer
we all prayed daily
