Deep roots, of faith
anchoring our lives in the good soil,
reaching down into the living waters
fed by the creator, the sustainer
our loving God; deep roots
reaching out, stabilizing us,
grounding us in study, in fellowship,
indwelling relationship with God
like trees against the blast
we are held up, protected
steeled for the trials we all face
with deep roots of faith
