Abiding, living,
growing in the vine
drinking of the water, of the minerals, the life energy
rising from the soil, from the garden
through the vine, through roots
through the heartwood
through the stalk, through the branches
the branches from which I grow
drawing life from the vine,
living, only so long as I am connected
a part of the vine
abiding in the vine,
so I may bear fruit for the gardener
