Rushing to school,
not late but not early
walking purposefully
to make it to the bus on time
Seeing the flowers
lit when they should not be
reflected light
shining down on them
Wanting to stop
to savor the moment
the dawn reflected
shining down on them
But in my rushing
not late but not early
the moment was gone
when I came back by
The light moved,
the dawn awakening
the flowers in shadows now
until later in the day
