God’s Due

The words of the Messiah
cunning in responding
the trap of the leaders failing
to catch him in their snare

God’s due clear
in the balance of the scales
leave to Caesar the stuff of the earth
leave God’s due, to him
the master of heaven
the creator of heaven and earth
all that lasts, eternal
give this unto God
