All of us complicit
all who claim his name
when others claim his name
and fail to follow his example
Christ showed us
God’s mercy, his love
going to the cross
that we may live
Nothing of hate
forgiveness the watchword
even on the cross
begging for our forgiveness
Our hands bloody
when those who claim his name
divide, hate, kill
in the name of Christ
Nothing could be farther
from the path of Christ
nothing more dividing
than claiming the will of God
