The mortar of Christ’s peace

flawed stones, mortal
built on the foundation
the covenant of love
grounded in David
the body eternal
his line everlasting
a people united
founded in Christ
the mortar of Christ’s peace
joining together
divergent stones
sheep of many nations
one in Jesus
bound to one another
held by his mortar
by the love of God
